WRC 5 Developer Diary #1

Clearly rally developers like developer diary’s. After seeing a handful from Milestone Studios – current developers of Sebastian Loeb Rally Evo, and former developers of the WRC series – its time for Kylotonn Games to get in on the fun with their WRC 5 title.

The first diary focuses on the car modeling in WRC 5. What’s kind of interesting is hearing the approach to car modeling that Kylotonn is employing. While other titles have gone down the path of laser scanning or receiving CAD data from the manufacturers/teams, it appears like Kylotonn is doing it the old school way and only utilizing detailed photos. While this may not be as accurate as a laser or CAD data, the models sure do look good. Has me fooled!

WRC 5 will be out this Fall on the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PlayStation Vita.

Between WRC 5, Sebastian Loeb Rally Evo and the Steam Early Access of Dirt Rally, fans of point-to-point racing will be up to their eyeballs in choices. Will be interesting to see which one rises to the top (above the eyeballs…?).
