Nicknamed “Vader”, Team Cal Simraceway ‘s 2011-12 Formula SAE car was UC Berkeley’s entry into the FSAE West 2011 competition, established to put students’ engineering skills to the test.
Sponsored by Simraceway and powered by the same 600cc Suzuki GSX-R600 engine as its predecessor, the 85-bhp racer represented the world-famous institution with distinction in the prestigious event, held at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California in June 2011.

The MP4-12C goes with a smaller, higher revving, twin-turbo 3.8L V8 that makes 592hp and 443tq. Around the world, automakers are setting goals to lower emissions and improve fuel mileage.
