Project CARS – 2011 BAC Mono Development Preview

Junior Members + of Slightly Mad Studio’s Project CARS have a daily insight into the development process of creating project cars from and insight into the daily code changes of the game to the final polishing that takes place during the modeling of cars and tracks for the game.

Recently announced was the licensing of the 2011 BAC Mono for Project CARS which over the past few weeks members of the sim have had the chance to watch it grow in development as the modelling team puts the car together. Released to the public now is the first part of the development of the BAC Mono showing the chassis in raw detail which has been modeled so far.

The Mono is powered by a 2.3 litre four-cylinder Cosworth engine – providing 280bhp at 7700rpm – which is mated to a F3-spec Hewland six-speed sequential gearbox. Weighing in at a mere 540 kilograms, the car sprints from 0-60 miles in a mind-blowing 2.8 seconds; reaching a top speed of 170mph.
