iRacing – Lotus 49 Preview Image

Recently iRacing teased us showing off a work in progress screenshot of an upcoming circuit to the title, Interlagos which was pictured in its raw scan data form. Today iRacing has revealed another picture on their official Facebook page this time for a new car.

The Lotus 49 which was announced a while back as part of a licensing deal was the subject of today’s photo showing off the car in a highly detailed model with what looks to be alot of work still ahead of the developers before we can expect to be driving it any time soon.

The Lotus 49 was a Formula One racing car designed by Colin Chapman and Maurice Philippe for the 1967 F1 season. It was designed around the Cosworth DFV engine that would power most of the Formula One grid through the 1970s and was the first successful Formula One car to feature the engine as a structural member.
