Ignite Game Technologies Secures $5 Million Funding

San Francisco-based game developer Ignite Game Technologies currently working on their flagship project Simraceway has announced they have received series C funding in the amount of $5 million. This brings their total raised by the developer to  $17.5 million. The money will be used to further enhance Ignite’s hardware and software launches and bring them closer to the dream of the company founder Jonathan Haswel.

The will involve creating Simraceway a more authentic and realistic experience to make it one of the top driving simulators on today’s game marketplace. This will include enhancing the laser scanned content such as cars and tracks and bringing more authenticity to the already expanding sim.

  • Laser-scanned tracks and cars – Ignite will continue to enhance the game’s realism by laser-scanning its licensed content, which will include many of motorsport’s most celebrated cars and tracks.
  • A proprietary player skill quantification system – The company will also look to roll out a player skill quantification system that will further broaden the game’s appeal by eliminating competitive mismatches common in other online racing games.
  • Enhanced levels of authenticity – Leveraging Simraceway’s permanent racing and training facility at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California, Simraceway’s world-class physics development team (which includes Dario Franchitti among other elite racing drivers) will ensure the game is constantly updated to deliver an environment that immerses users in the fast-moving world of motorsports.
