Some of the things we known about Forza Horizon so far from both screenshots, trailers and other sources is that Forza Horizon ill be set around a music festival which is set in an open world area of Colorado. We will see a dynamic lighting system being used to realistically replicate the day and night cycles.

The physics featured in Forza 4 will make a return in Forza Horizon, but will be optimized for off-road this will mean that there will be as much as 65 types of terrain featured in the game ranging from grass and tarmac to gravel and mud. The game will also allow you to visit places such as gas stations, car dealerships and paint shops all adding to the open world theme of the game.

Some of the things we know from various sources present at E3 and through various forms of media is that new features such as the localized weather system, allowing for certain parts of the circuit to have wet weather while other parts dry. This adding immersion and increase in unpredictability for the races as your strategy may drastically change according to the localized weather.
