Codemasters Looking To Include Historic F1 Cars

In a recent article provided by Eurogamer, Codemasters F1 Creative Director Stephen Hood told them that they hope to add Classic F1 cars to their officially licensed games in the future.

Stephen also said that Codemasters are negotiating with people not as including the historic F1 cars in the game will be a challenge due to dealing with defunct teams or sponsors who are no longer around. However the historic F1 cars will not be in F1 2012 but we shouldn’t be surprised if they turn up not so long after.

“We’ve discussed the complexity of doing that, especially with defunct teams or sponsors no longer around, alcohol and cigarette advertising, drivers no longer here and the trusts involved,” F1 2012 creative director Stephen Hood told Eurogamer as the veil was lifted from this year’s model.

“It’s something we’ve always wanted to do at Codemasters and we’re looking at it quite heavily now. It won’t be 2012 but I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns up not long after. We’re in negotiations with people now.”
